Throughout the study of The Jungle, students with disabilities should have the option of using dictation software for writing assignments, and text-to-speech software for reading assignments.

On Day 1, students may use the Internet to carry out research on the open web and to find imagery relevant to the story. There are also journalism activities: these could be carried out using Evernote, Google Docs, Voicethread, or other technologies that help students collect and present their observations.
