What are your initial thoughts after reading the story? What did you like or dislike? You can be honest here :)

This is really asking for your opinion rather than mine. For what it's worth, I recall thinking this story was an excellent metaphor for the folly of man. Certainly greed, friendship, forgiveness are all human traits that mean nothing in the natural world.
