The Importance of Being Earnest

What did the two ladies discover when Algernon and Worthing arrived?

While both men are in the church with Chasuble, speaking about the christening, the girls are angry at each other because they think that both are engaged with the same man, Ernest. But, in that moment, the men come back to Worthing's house, here, after a long discussion, the girls discover that Ernest doesn't exist. Also, that Algernon, Cecily's future husband and Jack's friend is Gwendolen's cousin, and that Jack, Gwendolen's future husband and Algernon's friend is Cecily's guardian and at the same time her uncle. Later, Algernon confeses that he pretend to be Mr Worthing's wicked brother, to meet with Cecily, also, Jack confeses that he invented a brother to go to town and know more about Gwendolen. It can be? (Thanks Aslan)
