Medical entitlement meant using Henrietta's tissue without her consent. Henrietta wanted the cancer cells out of her but had not consented for doctors to use these cells for further research. These cells were part of her body. Henrietta might well have consented were she asked but she was not. Henrietta or her family were credited with the successes derived from her cells like the polio vaccine. Henrietta, being black and poor, certainly contributed to the doctros' sense of entitlement using Henrietta's cells without her knowledge.
