Creative Writing
Objective:
Students will read examples of medical poetry and then write their own from Henrietta's point of view.

Structure:
Provide students with handouts of a few poems about illness. Max Ritvo's recent poems about his cancer are good examples, as is work by D.A. Powell, Lucia Perillo, or Tom Andrews. Consult Poets.org for more options and choose poems that your students will find meaningful....
