It isn't fair. The people picked are anywhere from 12 to 18 years old. These are all kids forced to fight each other to the death. It is meant to entertain the elite in the Capitol. Frequently young children who can least protect themselves, like Prim, are chosen.

What a waste of time huh?

it is unfair because the capitol my be doing this for thier amusment and the district are doing it to rule on another and it is stupid and dumb. i rest my case.

and the capitol dont even do any thing to the distric that win they just senf them home and do nothing but live the poor life they have

The Reaping system is not fair. It reminded me of the what the Nazi's did to the Jews and some other groups during the period before the war started and during the war. In a way when the tributes went to play in the 'Hunger Games' it was almost like sending children to the gas chambers and at times under the dome the 'contestants' were gassed. The capitol district was kind of like Hitler for they just gave the orders and others followed through no matter how cruel, for example when Katniss volunteered when her little sister was picked during the reaping session in the first book.
