Science Fiction as a Genre

Objective:

Students will understand characteristics of science fiction as a genre.

Structure:

Genres can be tricky to pin down, and science fiction is no exception. Separate the class into small groups and have them brainstorm some characteristics they think might apply to the genre. They can keep track of this on chart paper or a collaborative document online.
