What do you think about her comments on boredom as erotic?

Like the paintings, Offred feels she is like "objects not in use." She is an object and she is board. She wonders if men find this submissive act of indifference erotic. 

But maybe boredom is erotic, when women do it, for men.

It's acceptable for men to feel this way when they are bored but when women feel this way, society views it as disgusting and these women are slutshamed for feeling what a man feels. Offred feels this way as she doesnt have a choice of what she does to her body but the commander can do as he pleases. Gilead is patrichary the women have no chance.
