Why does Gatsby insist on showing Daisy his mansion and his shirts?

Gatsby hopes that his extreme wealth combined with the memores of the love they expereinced early in their lives will rekindle his romanc with Daisy.  She is already weathy, but he hopes this display will show her something else she can have in her life.
