What is the "historical Context" in The Great Gatsby?

The Great Gatsby takes place during the "Roaring Twenties". There was more money than ever before, especially for the elite, and the "consumer generation was born. Prohibition (ban on alcohol) was in place and that is how Gatsby gained much of his immense wealth.
