Hey, I can't write you an essay but I can tell you that I love this book. Many of the characters are archetypes yet hold a uniqueness that keeps us engaged through to the end. The characters touch deeper levels of motifs and themes engrained in American society. The excess of the roaring 20's combined with the illusion of the American dream resonate. One only needs to consider vast gap between the very rich and poor today to understand that Gatsby's relevance is not isolated to the 1920's.
