Do you agree with nick's statement “they were careless people, tom and daisy they smashed up things and creatures and then retreated back into their money or the vast carelessness or whatever it was too kept them together, and let other people clean up the mess they had made?

Yes, I agree. Tom and Daisy had no thought for anyone but themselves. They turned people's lives upside down, and rather than deal with the effects of their actions..... they simply packed up and left it all behind without a second thought. They believed themselved entitled and irreproachable...... untouchable.
