Because th narrater "reserved judgement", what sort of people, or men, did the narrater attract?
I think Nick attracted people who were constantly being judged. Nick is, for the most part, neutral. People like Tom and Gatsby feel a sense of safety. They see Nick as a confidant who exists outside the world of East Egg. They want Nick to validate them.
