How is John Proctor from "The Crucible" and Jay Gatsby from "The Great Gatsby" alike? Different?

Wow, the context is so different. Still I suppose both these guys go against the culture of the time. Gatsby goes against the filthy rich status-quo about old money, entitlement and inheritance. Proctor goes against the established theocracy of the time. Both are counter culture rebellious in their own ways.
