How does Nick end up at the end of the chapter?Where is Tom?What conclusions might we draw?

Nick becomes drunk at the party and is appalled by the behavior of some of the partygoers, especially Myrtle. Tom wants no one to talk about his wife, which makes Myrtle even more stubborn. Tom finally sickens of her behavior and punches her, breaking her nose. Nick leaves the party finally and goes home to Long Island.
