Gatsby says something like, can't repeat the past he cried, why yes you can!

-He wants to bring back the Daisy who loved him and no one else (Before Tom)

Gatsby never realized that he was in love with a dream. Daisy was no longer the young girl he fell in love with; she would never have given up the life she was accustomed to no matter how much romance swayed her feelings. You can't go back......... people change.
