Why does Daisy bury her face in Gatsby's beautiful shirts and cry?

Daisy is all about class and social standing. The mass array of expensive, imported shirts signifies Gatsby's worth economically. She throws herself at the shirts instead of at Gatsby because it is the idea of Gatsby's social standing and money that she is drawn to, not Gatsby himself.
