Gatsby has great difficulty accepting the idea that the past is the past, and that he shouldn’t yearn to recapture it. What does this say about him?

The fact that Gatsby lives in the past alludes to the fact that he can't accept change, He believes in his dreams, which are an illusion.... the world he lives in is not real.
