Describe two incidents involving automobiles in this chapter. What role do automobiles seem to play in the novel so far?

The scene in Chapter 3 where Owl Eyes ends up in the ditch would be one incident. The other would be that the people attending Gatsby's party have so much money, and yet, they ALL drive recklessly in their cars.
