After Myrtle's death, Nick begins to realize that the world isn't black and white, that things are not cut and dry, and that the right things or the worng things aren't always right or wrong. He finally sees that the world doesn't fit into his own defintion of morality or his personal standards. Nick changes because he begins to look at people in a new way.
