how would you identify Tom?

Tom is the narrator of the play. He lives with his mother and sister and supports them both. Tom's dreams have been put aside for responsibilities..... responsibilities that he has come to resent as the years and opportunities pass him by. Unlike Laura, who thrives in her isolation, Tom feels trapped..... imprisoned. He wants to break free in the same way that Laura wants to hide herself away.
