Rose Mary is a free spirit, she believes that freedom, artisitic expression, and nature negate the need for rules and boundaries. Her love of nature and the fulfillment that comes through artistic expression are the focus of her life...... her children and their care are secondary.

Rose Mary's knowledge of the natural world comes from experience. This doesn't mean that she is knowledgeable...... it means that the enjoyment she derives from nature, as well as the adventures she been on with her family define her as a person. She embraces the bohemian lifestyle..... she thrives in a nomadic existence. Wisdom and knowledge would have forced her to look at her family..... her children..... and consider what was best for them. Rose Mary believed their lifestyle made them resilient..... which it did..... it also was a source of neglect and often danger.
