on page 28, the reader learns the mothers philosophy of child rearing. What values are reflected in her philosophy? What do you think of her attitude?

Mrs. Walls cited that people worried too much about their children, that suffering was good for them. She ignored her children when they cried because fussing over children only encourages them to cry more. She did not believe in positive enforcement of negative behaviors...... which meant crying did not earn her children a cuddle.
