In the end of the memoir, we see Jeannette as a strong individual, who has persevered over adversity, stood tall, embraced her past, and looks to her parents for the things they've given her, rather than the things they didn't. We see a woman who can be a part of a loving relationship, a forgiving woman and a talented writer. We also know that the Jeannette who at one point didn't speak about her past..... now shares it publicly. Walls childhhod and the people who raised her helped to mold the woman she's become..... her strength did the rest.
