Why was it difficult for Jonas to sick to the rule about bragging with Benjamin?

Jonas is impressed by Benjamin's volunteer work but he's never complimented him on the great job he does at the rehabilitation center. He avoids doing so because he doesn't want push Benjamin into talking about himself. The rule against bragging prohibits this, and to spark that kind of conversation might be misconstrued.
