How are readers introduced to Isaac and Augustus ?

We are introduced to both of the characters when Hazel attends her support group. Isaac lost his eye to cancer and may be losing another, he is the one person in the group that Hazel genuinely likes. One week not too long after joining the support group, Hazel attends the group and finds a hot boy (Augustus), new to the group, staring at her. He is Isaac’s friend.
