In the Gilgamesh epic how does Mesopotamia approach to nature and related divine forces

The Epic of Gilgamesh shows us the way in which Mesopotamian society viewed divinity and mortality similar to what we see in Greek and Roman mythology. Gilgamesh is 2/3 divine; he battles both natural and supernatural forces; he is protected by the gods; he seeks immortality.
