She does all her best in ensuring that her family receives the best even though she under a difficult time. Even though most of her actions result in consequences to the extent that she feels more like a failure than a hero, the writer portrays her as an emblem of self-sacrifice in her quest to being a good mother.

    War is at the center of the problems that span the pages of the novel. The broken nature of the protagonist’s community as well as the impending change are all as a result of the war. As a result of this, she struggles, contests, and hassles to find a community that can help her following the damage caused to the whole nation as a result of the war. The economies are also changed as a result of it.
