The book is filled with anti-Semitism. The Franks and others are hiding in the annex because of anti-Semitism. There were, for example. signs all over the Netherlands that said, 'Forbidden for Jews’ or ‘Jews Not Wanted’. Jews had a curfew; they were not allowed in parts of the city. They had to wear a star or marker indicating that they were a Jew.
