The Diary of a Young Girl by Anne Frank

In the ending to the play, Mr. Frank opens Ann'es diary. As he reads, the audience hears Anne's voice saying the famous line, "in spite of everything, I still believe people are really good at heart." Mr. Frank then says to Miep, "She puts me to shame."

what do you think he means by that? why?

Mr. Frank doesn't share his daughter's optimistic beliefs..... his experiences will never again allow him to believe that people are really good at heart. Mr. Frank lost his family..... he lost everything.
