Mr. Kraler, who is one of Mr. Frank's Dutch associates, arranges for the living space in the annex. Kraler and Koophius bear the brunt of the responsibility for keeping their hiding place a secret. Kraler is arrested for his role in helping the annex residents, and as a result, he is sentenced spend eight months in a forced labor camp.
