Anne coped with the stress and strain by writing in her diary. Her diary was her sounding board and confidant...... it was the only place she could be completely honest without hurting people's feelings. The crowded annex was filled with stress and strain...... emotions that often poured over and caused conflict and hurt. Anne tried to keep her feelings to herself, she wrote to unburden herself.
