After 1940, Hitler conquered Holland and brought anti-Jewish measures there. Jews were forced to wear yellow stars as marks of identification; they had to hand in their bicycles and were not allowed to use trams or public facilities. They were segregated into Jewish shops and Jewish schools and not allowed to visit Christian homes. As Anne says, "Our freedom was strictly limited."

As anne said that their fredom as prohibted by this she refers that they were not allowed to go out of the secret annexe if they will go out and any one of the nazi have seen then tey will get to gas chambers which were concentration camps so for 2 years they live only in the secret annexe untill they caught by the nazis so that was a type ajail for them they cannot see outside can't go anywhere
