Sidney argues that poetry is noble and does not contribute to moral corruption. He adds that poetry's purpose is to inspire and elevate souls. He also notes that it is the abuse of poetry..... not that poetry itself that leads to sin. He argues against the degradation pf poetry because poetry's purpose is "to delight and instruct".
