The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time

This is a difficult question, as Christopher's parents were in very different situations. Christopher's mother left because she couldn't handle the stress. Yes, she sent letters that were hidden away from Christopher, and yes, Christopher's father was wrong. What remains, however, is a man who took on the challenge.... the parent who stayed. In the end, they both love their son.

Christopher's father makes mistakes, as do all fathers. So does his mother. When Christopher seeks his mother out, however, she puts him first. She is thrilled to have her son, and although she stills struggles, she even leaves her husband to be a part of Christopher's life. She does the right thing.

Personally, I don't think either parent is more successful at this point, but I do thing that they are equally engaged in trying to do the right thing.
