What is the role of sexuality and sexual repression.

Sexuality was most certainly repressed in those days..... it's only value was seen as that of procreation, the begetting of children. That's not to say men and women were void of satisfying relationships, they just didn't talk about it. Sexuality outside of marriage would have brought shame and humilation.
