Infer why Judge Danforth might be uncomfortable talking with Elizabeth?

In my opinion, Danforth is uncomfortable with Eizabeth because he knows that Proctor is innocent but his pride and self-interest will not allow him to say so. He wants Elizabeth to do his job for him.
