In "The Crucible, what is the dispute between John Proctor and Thomas Putnam?

Please, if you can help me. This question is referred to Act One on "The Crucible".

Proctor and Putnam are in a dispute over land. Proctor has a piece of woods that Putnum claims belong to him. He accuses Proctor of stealing his lumber. Truth be told, Proctor isn't the only one with a Putnam problem. He has accused other men of the same thing.
