The Color of Water

How were Ruth's values different from her dad's?

I'm looking for values that Ruth values but her dad didn't seem to care as much as. If you find one, could you use quote/ evidence from the book. Thank you!

Ruth's father valued money more than anything else in his life. He was abusive (verbally and physically) to his family, he was selfish, and he was racist.

Ruth valied her family above all else. She was kind, generous, and loving, and she was able to see people as individuals without color.
