The social stratification or social class justice presented in the play has close ties to the Marxist view of the law. Brecht wanted to illustrate that the law under non Marxist rule frequently favours the ruling classes. The poor have few rights under a system that is designed to exploit them.

the poor are usually used vessels that the rich use for their protection, poor ironshirts have the responsibility to take care of ther clients despite the dangers
