Is Holden destined to commit suicide or survive his teenage years?

I think Holden would have made it. In his own way Holden was dissecting human nature long before people often do. His negativity combined with his teenage angst to give his adolescence a rough ride. Still as he watches his sister Phoebe on the carousel, we get the feeling that Holden is slowly understanding that everything is not a forgery, that there is innocence and beauty in life after all.
