Describe Holden's realtionsips interactions with people around him. Give an example.

One example of Holden's inability to have an actual relationship can be found in his friendship with Mr. Antolini. Outside of Phoebe, Holden seems unable to forge a genuine relationship built on trust and true friendship. He's always looking for others to do it wrong.... to prove they're the phonies he believes them to be. In my opinion, Mr. Antolini genuinely cares for Holden...... as a person and former student. It is Holden who finds something dirty in a show of affection. He cannot allow anyone to be close to him without an ulterior motive.
