Holden has moments of both maturity and immaturity in the Lavender Room. He talks his way into the club, but then he immaturely persists in asking for alcohol. He then asks three women to dance. The women, guessing his age, giggle at the prospect, but at this point it's Holden's thoughts that become immature and insulting. When he finally gets to dance with the blonde he'd been checking out............ he becomes a flatterer....... a man of the world.
