Truth - none of the characters can be trusted to speak the truth

Lies - All are, to some extent, deceptive, twisting reality in order to manipulate one another and to delude themselves. Most deceptive is Davies as he is a liar who uses fantasy (also a theme) - he attempts to win Aston's respect by pretending to have a past that is not true.
