The Boy in the Striped Pajamas

Why author killed Bruno?

This is unrealistic....what was the purpose of killing him?

More startling and true would be if only Shmuel died.

Like I said previously, this novel is a work of fiction. Had a young, German child made his way into the camp during a gathering, it is possible that he be moved into the chambers with everyone else. Bruno's father doesn't exactly parade his son in front of his soldiers, who would have believed him even if he'd complained..... not to mention, Bruno didn't know where he was being led.
