The Boy in the Striped Pajamas

List examples in history where civil disobedience has been constructive.

- When Rosa Parkes never gave up her seat in a bus for a white man. Making this stand that no one else would have dared of was an important step towards equal rights for coloured people and Rosa was the brave one to do it. - Runaway slaves prove that disobedience has been constructive because it has built them a better life, and every slave that ever tried to escape was taking one step closer to having a slave-free world were all are as equals. Some of them after escaping although were warned against it, returned to the south and brought back their friends and families off the plantations and built better lives for them in free country. - Suffragettes used disobedience and sometimes radical violence to get what they wanted and knew would be the future for a pathway into women’s equality to men, and that was the vote. Women in England especially had to fight hard for it as their civil appeals were knocked back by the 100% male government. Eventually they resorted to violence and vandalism, and some of its most valiant supporters were even martyred for the cause. Women were allowed the vote eventually, and slowly, equality in the workplace began to come around.

What are the other important ones??
