When Kotler went to the war he was not scared.He liked war?why?

Kotler's only identity was around the war and the Hitler Youth. He might have been scared going to war but he could not show it. Kotler really had nothing outside of the war to identify with. His father was disgraced and he really had no other family or friends. The war was his identity.
