What is Death's reasoning behind giving you important information before it happens?

It says that it is on page 243, but I cannot seem to find it. If somebody could help me it would be greatly appreciated.

This is a narrative decision by the author. It shows Death's metaphysical side as well as giving the reader added context into what is happening and what will happen.
