What are the differences between max and liesel ?

Max and Liesel have both lost their families, and both have come to live with Hans and Rosa. Max has to stay in hiding, whereas, Liesel moves freely. Max is in hiding because he is Jewish..... Liesel's father was a member of the Communist Party, who had a falling out when the Nazi regime took control. Liesel is uneducated; Max educated.
