author included these examples?
Hans displays resistance through his acts of kindness.
Max displays resistance through his actions and courage.
Liesel uses words and books to defy the Nazi regime.
Each of these character displays resistance, yet, each of them also refuses to invoke violence. I believe the author included these acts of resistance as an example of the way people fought against the Nazis in silence, as to rise up against them would have brought punishment and death,
